DL-α-Prodine(Cat No.:M087333), also known as alphaprodine, is a synthetic opioid analgesic related to the phenylpiperidine class of narcotics. Developed in the mid-20th century, it is used primarily for moderate to severe pain management. Structurally similar to fentanyl and meperidine, alphaprodine acts on the central nervous system by binding to mu-opioid receptors, producing analgesia and sedation. It is available in two enantiomers, with the dextro form being the more active analgesic.
