Dihydridotetrakis(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II)(Cat No.: M087900), with the formula RuH₂(PPh₃)₄, is a coordination complex featuring a ruthenium(II) center bonded to two hydride ligands and four triphenylphosphine ligands. This air-sensitive, pale yellow to white crystalline solid is widely used as a homogeneous catalyst in hydrogenation, hydroformylation, and C–C bond-forming reactions. Its rich electronic structure and ligand environment allow for facile activation of molecular hydrogen and unsaturated substrates. The complex is important in organometallic chemistry and plays a significant role in transition-metal-mediated catalysis.
