N719 dye is a widely used high-performance sensitizer in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). It is an ammonium salt derivative of N3 dye, engineered to improve cell voltage and solubility in polar solvents. N719 dye is amphiphilic, enabling strong and stable adsorption onto TiO₂ surfaces, particularly under low pH conditions. Its molecular design enhances electrostatic binding, stability, and oxidation potential, leading to deeper HOMO energy levels and improved long-term device performance. Owing to these characteristics, N719 dye has become a benchmark photosensitizer for achieving high efficiency and reliability in DSSC applications.
