DFHO (Cat No.:I044496) is a synthetic fluorogenic dye used in RNA imaging, particularly in conjunction with RNA aptamers like Spinach and Broccoli. It remains non-fluorescent in solution but becomes highly fluorescent upon binding to specific RNA structures, enabling real-time visualization of RNA localization and dynamics in living cells. DFHO mimics the natural chromophore of green fluorescent protein (GFP) and provides high photostability, brightness, and low background fluorescence. Its use in live-cell RNA tracking has advanced molecular biology and synthetic biology studies by allowing dynamic monitoring of gene expression.
