Dichloropalladium;2-diphenylphosphanylethyl(diphenyl)phosphane(CAT: L041974) is a palladium(II) complex coordinated with a bidentate phosphine ligand—2-diphenylphosphanylethyl(diphenyl)phosphane (commonly known as DPEphos)—and two chloride ligands. This air-stable organometallic compound is widely used as a precatalyst in homogeneous catalysis, especially in carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bond-forming reactions such as Suzuki, Heck, and Buchwald–Hartwig couplings. The DPEphos ligand offers a wide bite angle and strong electron-donating properties, enhancing catalytic efficiency, regioselectivity, and functional group tolerance. This complex is highly valued in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis for facilitating efficient, scalable cross-coupling processes under mild conditions, particularly with sterically hindered or electronically challenging substrates.
