Chorionic gonadotrophin (Cat No.: I041830) is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It supports the corpus luteum, promoting the secretion of progesterone, which is essential for maintaining the uterine lining and early pregnancy. hCG is structurally similar to luteinizing hormone (LH) and is used clinically to induce ovulation, treat infertility, and support luteal function. It is also employed in managing cryptorchidism and hypogonadism in males. hCG is measured in pregnancy tests and can serve as a tumor marker in certain cancers.
