Carbodenafil(CAT: R049009) is a synthetic phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor structurally related to sildenafil and other benzenesulfonamide-based PDE5 antagonists. It enhances nitric oxide (NO)–mediated signaling by preventing the breakdown of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), leading to smooth muscle relaxation and vasodilation. Originally developed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, Carbodenafil has been studied for its pharmacological profile and structural similarities to clinically approved PDE5 inhibitors. Its activity highlights the importance of PDE5 inhibition in cardiovascular and urogenital research. Carbodenafil is also referenced in regulatory and forensic studies as an unapproved or counterfeit erectile dysfunction drug ingredient.
