Buflomedil HCl is a vasodilator used to treat claudication or the symptoms of peripheral arterial disease; A nonselective alpha adrenergic receptor inhibitor.<br>Buflomedil increases intracellular levels of cAMP in human keratinocytes, either secondary to phosphodiesterase inhibition (PTX) or adenyl-cyclase stimulation (BC). Buflomedil diminishes TPA-induced TNF-alpha and IL-8 release from keratinocytes; in the case of IL-8 it is possible that this inhibition occur to transcriptional level.<br>Buflomedil (6 mg/kg) increases flap survival in nicotine treated rats.
