BMS-963272 (Cat No.: I045331) is an oral small-molecule antagonist of the P2X3 receptor, a ligand-gated ion channel involved in sensory neuron signaling, particularly in chronic cough and neuropathic pain. By selectively inhibiting P2X3, BMS-963272 reduces aberrant sensory nerve activation without significantly affecting taste perception, a common side effect of less selective P2X3 blockers. It has been investigated in clinical trials for refractory chronic cough and other hypersensory disorders. BMS-963272 offers a promising therapeutic approach for conditions involving hypersensitive peripheral sensory pathways.
