Bis(1-[3-(methoxycarbonyl)propyl]-1-phenyl)-[6,6]C62 (bis[C60]PCBM) also known as a PCBM bisadduct, is a fullerene derivative designed to enhance the performance of organic solar cells. Compared to monoadduct PCBM, bis[C60]PCBM possesses a higher-lying LUMO level, which raises the open-circuit voltage (Voc) of devices by approximately 0.1 V. This property makes it a valuable material for improving efficiency in organic photovoltaics and perovskite-based devices. In addition to device optimization, bis[C60]PCBM is also employed in crystallization and morphology studies, particularly in investigations of polymer–fullerene packing behavior, providing key insights into bulk heterojunction structure and charge transport mechanisms.
