Bis(benzonitrile)palladium(II) chloride (Cat No.: M062331), with the formula PdCl₂(PhCN)₂, is a coordination complex featuring a palladium(II) center bonded to two chloride ions and two benzonitrile (PhCN) ligands. It is a yellow to orange crystalline solid that is soluble in organic solvents. The benzonitrile ligands are relatively labile, making this complex a versatile precursor in organopalladium chemistry. It is commonly used in cross-coupling reactions and catalyst development, especially in homogeneous catalysis for carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bond formation in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis.
