Bamocaftor (VX-659)(Cat No.:I022983)is a next-generation cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) corrector developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals. It is designed to enhance the folding and trafficking of the defective CFTR protein, particularly in patients with the F508del mutation, the most common cause of cystic fibrosis. Bamocaftor is often used in combination with potentiators like ivacaftor and other correctors to significantly improve CFTR function. Clinical studies have shown that this triple therapy approach leads to improved lung function, reduced pulmonary exacerbations, and enhanced quality of life for cystic fibrosis patients.
