Azabenzene (Cat No.: M068579), more commonly known as pyridine, is a six-membered aromatic heterocycle in which one carbon atom of benzene is replaced by a nitrogen atom. This colorless to pale yellow liquid has a distinctive, pungent odor and exhibits basicity due to the lone pair on nitrogen. Azabenzene is widely used as a precursor in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and as a solvent or reagent in organic synthesis. Its electron-deficient aromatic ring also makes it a key ligand in coordination and organometallic chemistry.
