Arsenic pentoxide (Cat No.:R062329) is a white, odorless, hygroscopic solid composed of arsenic in its +5 oxidation state. It is highly toxic and acts as a strong oxidizing agent. As₂O₅ is typically produced by the oxidation of arsenic trioxide or arsenic acid and is used primarily in the manufacturing of pesticides, herbicides, and wood preservatives. It also finds application in the glass and ceramics industries. Due to its hazardous nature, handling requires strict safety precautions, including protective gear and proper ventilation. It readily dissolves in water, forming arsenic acid (H₃AsO₄).
