Aganepag isopropyl(Cat No.:I021511)is a prodrug of aganepag, a selective prostaglandin EP2 receptor agonist developed for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Upon ocular administration, it is hydrolyzed to the active form, which enhances aqueous humor outflow through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral pathways, leading to a reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP). Its mechanism offers an alternative to prostaglandin F receptor agonists, with potentially fewer side effects like iris pigmentation or eyelash growth. Aganepag isopropyl is currently under clinical investigation for its safety, efficacy, and IOP-lowering potential in ophthalmic therapy.
