Ac-IEPD-AMC TFA(CAT: I040243) is a fluorogenic peptide substrate commonly used to measure protease activity, particularly for caspase-family enzymes. Upon enzymatic cleavage at the IEPD recognition sequence, the compound releases 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC), a fluorescent product that emits a strong signal under UV light. This fluorescence can be quantitatively detected, making Ac-IEPD-AMC an ideal substrate for high-throughput screening, enzyme kinetics, and apoptosis assays. Its high sensitivity and specificity enable real-time monitoring of proteolytic activity in biochemical, cell-based, and drug discovery applications involving caspase-8 or related proteases.
