4′,6-Diamidino-2-phenylindole dihydrochloride (Cat No.: R003340) is a fluorescent stain widely used in cell biology and molecular biology to visualize DNA. It binds strongly to A-T rich regions in the minor groove of double-stranded DNA, emitting a bright blue fluorescence under UV light. DAPI is commonly used in fluorescence microscopy for nuclear staining in fixed cells. The dihydrochloride form enhances solubility and stability. Due to its high specificity and sensitivity, DAPI is a valuable tool in imaging and cell cycle studies.
