(-)-Blebbistatin(cas 856925-71-8) is a selective inhibitor of myosin II ATPase activity with IC50 of 0.5 - 5 μM.
Blebbistatin is widely used in research to inhibit heart muscle, non-muscle myosin II, skeletal muscle. However, its adverse characteristics e.g. its cytotoxicity and blue-light instability or low solubility in water often make its application challenging or impossible.
