Polymer Science
Polymer materials are polymer compounds composed of small units as basic units that are connected repeatedly in large numbers. Since they are composed of many repeating units, they have a large molecular weight. According to the source classification, polymer materials can be divided into natural polymer materials and synthetic polymer materials.
Common natural polymers have animal starches and bio proteins, while common natural polymers have plastics, fibers and rubbers. Among them, the application of synthetic polymer materials in modern society occupies a dominant position.
Polymer materials have many excellent properties: in terms of physical properties, polymer materials have the characteristics of lightweight, high strength and excellent wear resistance; in terms of chemical properties, polymer materials have stable chemical properties, excellent corrosion resistance and other characteristics; in terms of biological function, some polymer materials also have the characteristics of low toxicity, biodegradability and good biocompatibility.
